Project Description:
The Resorts World casino and hotel complex in Queens is the epicenter of New York gaming, attracting more than 10 million guests every year. Gilston Electric was tasked with providing a best-in-class electrical system for the casino’s $200 million expansion, which included a new ground-up nine-story, 400-room hotel, casino floors, retail shops, and back-of-house areas.
The project was a fast track 18-month build across 64 acres, and nearly 500,000 square feet, while taking unprecedented safety precautions in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gilston fit out the site with a reliable and economically responsible use of electrical power, as well as an additional 30,000 square feet of casino space. Key systems included 34 new electrical closets, a 500 kW UPS, 3,800 light fixtures and 6,500 switches, and underfloor power for 850 slot machines, among many others.
