Project Description:
F. W. Sims performed all HVAC piping work during the renovation and rehabilitation of the James A. Farley building, which involved the development of the new Moynihan Train Hall as an extension of Pennsylvania Station. Completed in 1914, the Farley building is a designated New York City landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The work consisted of rooftop cooling towers and a brand new Mechanical Equipment Room on the concourse level, including a steam-to-hot water plant for heating and a chiller plant providing 2,600 tons of cooling to the building.
